1. Attorney Brandy Karl Appointed Copyright Officer by Penn State’s Libraries
Karl served as a fellow at Stanford Law School’s center for Internet and Society and Fair Use Project. She has also been an attorney extern at the Federal Communications Commission’s Office of Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis. Karl has her master of laws from Georgetown University Law Center and her juris doctor from Boston University School of Law.
2. University of Kentucky Libraries Looking to Hire Director of Digital Scholarship
The University of Kentucky is seeking a Director of Digital Scholarship (librarian) for its Lexington, KY campus. Will lead a program that engages faculty, staff, and students in initiatives to maximize the dissemination, preservation and impact of the university’s scholarship and research. Will oversee UK Libraries’ institutional repository, UKnowledge, a Digital Commons based initiative. Will continue the development of repository and library publishing policies, procedures, and services. Engage with faculty and students to secure content and develop partnerships. Create promotional materials, actively advertise UKnowledge to the university community, and develop the UK Libraries’ scholarly communications and open access website. Collaborate with UK Information Technology on the development of an enterprise repository for campus.
Position requires an ALA accredited MLS degree.
