Librify, a Social Ebook Platform Prepares to Launch; Partnering With Target

May 28, 2014 by Gary Price

From Librify:

Librify, a social ebook platform, will launch soon as an invite-only service, just in time for summer blockbuster book season.
Librify will transform the ebook experience by delivering today’s top bestsellers and latest releases for purchase along with an online community of passionate readers. Librify will offer a membership service and a complete a la carte platform to satisfy the needs of readers and book clubs.
“From my experience in the publishing industry, there is a consumer need for a book club- like experience that allows readers to fit books into their full and busy lives,” said Joanna Stone Herman, CEO and co-founder, Librify. “We’re looking to satisfy the needs of aspirational readers who want to enjoy and engage more around books. Librify will make new releases and current best sellers easily accessible while also providing a membership platform.”
Librify members will enjoy book club management features and a new social reading experience which will help organize and encourage sharing of bookshelves with friends as they purchase some of today’s top bestsellers and latest releases.
Target will be Librify’s exclusive retail partner. The partnership, which combines Librify’s innovative ebook offering with Target’s “Club Picks” and curating expertise, will be unveiled at Book Expo America this week.
