Note: This CBC report includes a 7:52 audio segment that includes comments from Peter Friese, Chairman of the Windsor Public Library board.
From the CBC:
Mayor Eddie Francis will be asking city council at Monday’s budget meeting for $5.8 million to help modernize the city’s library system.
Chris Woodrow, the acting CEO of the Windsor Library was in the “loop” but could not say much until Francis announced it during the state of the city address Wednesday.
That money would go toward moving the downtown branch to a currently undisclosed location.
It also involves creating new branches in Sandwich, South Walkerville and Devonshire Mall.
