Reference: New Database Provides Info About More Than 17,000 New Zealand Artists Past and Present
From FindNewZealandArtists.com:
Find New Zealand Artists is a new website that directs people to information sources on exhibiting New Zealand artists past and present.
The Find New Zealand Artists website results from a joint project between Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tâmaki and Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu, and offers access to the databases of 12 libraries, published sources and art society records. Operating as an information portal, the site allows users to search for and locate information on over 17,000 New Zealand artists in one place.

The data sources used in this project include the five key art library artist file collections that are open to the public and the main art society exhibition histories (with the exception of the Otago Art Society which we hope to add soon, although the catalogues themselves have not yet been digitised). In addition we have included a number of key published sources.
