The Vancouver Public Library Joins The Commons on Flickr
VPL is the fourth organization (see below) that we’ve posted about joining The Commons in the past month.
From the Flickr Blog:
We are happy to welcome the Vancouver Public Library! Funded by the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Public Library is the third largest public library system in Canada: “With over 373,000 cardholders and more than 9 million items borrowed annually, [and] with exceptional collections, services and technologies offered at 22 branches as well as an extensive virtual library, VPL is accessible to all citizens of Vancouver.”
The Vancouver Public Library starts their Commons collection (193 images at the moment) with historical photographs of Chinese Canadians in British Columbia, Stanley Park, Neon Signs of Vancouver and a collection of photos by Mattie Gunterman.
