Open Library NC Project (NC Live + Open Library) Creates Over 1,000 eBooks
From the NC Live Blog:
The Open Library NC Project is a collaboration between the Internet Archive and NC LIVE. Because of this collaboration, all of North Carolina has access to a large-scale shared downloadable eBook collection called the Open Library eBook Lending Collection. The eBooks in this collection are digital scans of books contributed by libraries around the country.
In exchange for this borrowing access, NC LIVE asked member libraries to contribute books to be scanned and added to the collection as eBooks. The contribution phase of the project has drawn to a close, with 78% of member libraries participating and contributing over 1,000 books to the Open Library Lending Collection. Thank you to all 145 participating libraries for helping us make Open Library even bigger and better!
