Emerald Group Publishing Limited is delighted to announce the next batch of articles available in open access as part of its ‘special partnership’ with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). The articles, available to download from www.emeraldinsight.com/tk/iflaoa2013, are published in several of Emerald’s well-respected LIS journals, including Interlending & Document Supply, Library Hi Tech News, Performance Measurement and Metrics, Library Management and Library Review.
Under this agreement, papers that have their origins in an IFLA conference or project, have the opportunity to be published in one of Emerald’s LIS journals and become open access nine months after publication. This special partnership takes advantage of the Emerald platform to increase the discoverability of research presented at IFLA events.
Ann Okerson, Chair of IFLA’s Professional Committee commented, “IFLA’s partnership with Emerald provides IFLA’s authors with a choice of publishing and raises the visibility of their work. For IFLA, the partnership is also an important part of our efforts to promote Open Access opportunities for authors.”
Mary Hollerich Co-Editor of ISI ranked journal Interlending & Document Supply says, “The special partnership between IFLA and Emerald is a boon to authors and readers alike. IFLA authors have the opportunity to publish in a wide range of prestigious library science journals, many of them ISI ranked publications. Readers benefit by having timely access to some of the world’s best and most innovative research. Because of this unique agreement, the proceedings of the 12th Interlending & Document Supply Conference are already freely available to readers.”
The latest open access papers include articles originating from IFLA’s 12th Interlending & Document Supply Conference held in Chicago in 2011, and papers from the World Library and Information Congress held in Puerto Rico in 2011. Also available are 19 papers published in November 2011. In total Emerald has published nearly 50 OA papers since the special partnership was set up in August 2009.
