Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs E-Book Research Project

The Japanese Agency of Cultural Affairs conducted an experiment in regards to e-books to analyse the patterns of distribution for better usage. The project working group choose 13 titles from the National Diet Library’s digital archive to experientally work through the process of creating e-books including licensing and distribution to clarify existing issues and find better solutions for them.
The most downloaded book was ERO ERO Soushi (Erotic Erotic Book)” by Sakai Kiyoshi (11,749 downloads).
Banned in 1930, this book already holds the title of most accessed digital archive at National Diet Library for 5 consecutive months in 2012.
