Three New Videos Look at Europeana Strategy, Ecosystem, and Cloud Project
Update: We’ve reached out to Europeana to let them now that the audio for all three of the videos embedded below is very poor and made viewing a challenge. Hopefully, they’ll be able to correct the problem. If we hear with an update we will update this post.
New online from Europeana are three archived presentations recorded at The Researcher of Tomorrow Conference that took place in Madrid last November.
Jill Cousins describes how the Europeana ecoysystem of content and services could function in the future and the potential impact of the Connecting Europe Facility in supporting it. She will focus on the role of libraries as a major domain within the ecosystem.
The three-year business plan and strategy (2013-2015) will bring CENL, LIBER and CERL together in a new governance structure for The European Library, with ambitious and exciting goals to achieve. We hear the details of the plan and how national and research libraries will work collectively to realise them.
Alastair Dunning introduces a new three-year project, Europeana Cloud, which aims to establish a cloud-based infrastructure for the sharing of metadata and content within the Europeana ecoysystem. It will also create Europeana Research, a new cross-domain service to support European research in the humanities and social sciences.
