This topic report looks at the digitalisation of cultural heritage in Europe and the regulations and conditions for it re-use. The report discusses relevant research undertaken over the last few years regarding the challenges and benefites of making digital cultural heritage information available for re-use. It reviews the development of the legal framework and highlights the arguments pro and contra the proposed amendment of the PSI Directive to extend the scope of the Directive to include cultural heritage institutions.
