O.K. Harry Potter fans, Pottermore is opening to everyone. You’ll need to register and then confirm you’re email address. After that plan to wait (what we’re doing at them moment) to be given full access to the site.

Over the coming days, we’ll be inviting new users onto Pottermore.com. We’re expecting to be really busy to start with and plan to activate new registrations in a steady stream. This means that you may not get access to Pottermore immediately after you sign up but we will get you exploring the site as quickly possible.

The wait is over. Pottermore, the much anticipated online hub for the Harry Potter franchise is now open, following a closed Beta testing phase.

Pottermore chief executive Charlie Redmayne said the site had been “on-boarding” Harry Potter fans since 8am this morning, having opened deliberately at a time when traffic levels would be low. “Most people are still in bed at that time on a Saturday morning, the US is asleep.” Nevertheless, he said the numbers joining for the first time and those returning to the site were beyond what he’d expected, given the time the site rolled-out and the lack of pre-launch fanfare. “The starting point has been extraordinary.”
