via E-Mail:
The Beacham Group, LLC, (formerly Beacham Publishing, Inc.) has devoted eight years to exhaustive exploration of the topic and created Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium (TRAC) – one of the world’s most comprehensive research centers for faculty, scholars, students, government and defense professionals, as well as the general public.
Features
- TRAC’s profiles of 3,800 groups that have been known to aid and abet political violence or terrorist organizations give researchers the tools to filter groups by multiple categories for specific queries and to link to sources worldwide for expanded resources
- Original, in-depth analyses of important terrorism issues, providing users with a 360 degree perspective of key topics
- Hot links that quickly navigate between concepts within articles, news feeds, and outside resources
- Profiles and risk analysis of vulnerable regions and cities most likely to attract terrorist activity including links to the Failed States Index
- Live intelligence repository: TRAC provides a publishing center for research of any length produced by its members. Plus, contributors, reporters and consortium members can post stories and have them immediately disbursed throughout the network
- Chatter Control to continuously monitor important news and analyses sources, posting feeds to the site as they occur, which are then cataloged and archived for future study
- Consortium Network with a global representation of 2,800 terrorism scholars and specialists reporting from a range of terrorism hotspots including Russia, Poland, Egypt, Lebanon, Israel, Pakistan, Croatia, Afghanistan, Serbia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Canada, United States and more
- Throughout TRAC’s development, Beacham Publishing sought the input and assessment of leading scholars to ensure its primary goal of helping researchers locate the most appropriate and efficient resources available. Among the scores of contributors are Israel’s Gabriel Weinmann, Ahmad Moussalli of Lebanon, American Peter Chalk, India’s Animesh Raul, and Arabinda Acharya of Singapore. In a preview of the site, Dr. Susan Olzak, Professor of Sociology at Stanford said: “TRAC is terrific. I have already made progress on my project [a book on the ideologies of terrorist groups] today with your website, and am impressed with the cross-links, accuracy, and coverage. I am also impressed with the visuals – the flags displayed for some of the separatist groups are not that easy to come by, and I find this aspect fascinating.”
