New York: Yonkers Library Worker Admits Stealing $163,582, Faces Prison

A former Yonkers library worker agreed Thursday to serve one to three years in state prison for stealing $163,582 out of the public library system over seven years.
Margo Reed, 54, pleaded guilty in Westchester County court to second-degree grand larceny and filing a false tax return, both felonies. The plea satisfied an 18-count indictment that included other fraud charges.

Reed, a Yonkers resident, worked in the library’s business office and was responsible for collecting fines and other revenue from the three branches of the Yonkers Public Library System. She was also responsible for handing over the library’s revenue to the Yonkers Finance Department for deposit.
