From The Daily Breeze:
Martin Gomez is leaving his post as the head librarian of the city of Los Angeles to become vice dean of libraries USC, it was announced Friday.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, in announced Gomez’s resignation, said the librarian’s three-year tenure at the helm of the 72-branch public system was “outstanding.”
Villaraigosa credited Gomez with galvanizing support needed to pass a charter amendment last year that boosted funding for public libraries. The increased funding allowed Gomez last July to re-open branches on Mondays.
