Public Libraries: Palo Alto Library Foundation Donates $1.9M For Furnishings at Renovated Library
From the Palo Alto Daily News:
When construction wraps up at the Mitchell Park Library and Community Center next year, its contents will be just as new.
The Palo Alto Library Foundation presented the city council with a $1.9 million check Monday night to fill the renovated facility with brand-new “furnishings, fixtures and equipment.”
“I don’t recall a citizen contribution this large,” said foundation president Bern Beecham, noting he has lived in Palo Alto for 30 years.
