Milestones: Directory of Open Access Journals Hits 7,000 Listings, More than 600,000 Article Searchable
Congrats to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) team for reaching this impressive milestone. Today’s announcement also includes news about the new Turkish language version of the site.
From a DOAJ Web Site Announcement:
Directory of Open Access Journals is continuously growing – now there are 7000 journals listed in the directory! 45% of the journals are searchable on article level = more than 600 000 articles searchable.
DOAJ is also aiming to make the site available in other languages than English. Recently the French version of the DOAJ site was launched and now we are happy to inform that the site is also available in Turkish, thanks to the cooperation between Lund University Libraries, Head Office and the consortium ANKOS, who carried out the translation.
On May 10, 2010 (approximately 16 months or 500 days ago) the DOAJ posted that they had reached 5,000 OA journals in the directory. 2,000 journals searchable at the article level, about articles 400,000 articles searchable.
