Marshall Breeding on 3M's Plans to Debut Cloud Based eBook Lending Service at ALA Annual

May 20, 2011 by Gary Price

From Marshall’s Library Technology Guides

3M Library Systems announces that it will introduce the 3M Cloud Library eBook lending service at the ALA Annual Conference on June 24, 2011 in New Orleans, LA. 3M Cloud Library eBook lending provides eBooks, software and hardware with titles from leading publishers including Random House and IPG; partnerships with other publishers underway. The product will be based on M Discovery Terminals with an touch-based interface for patrons to browse and check out titles from the digital collection and will involve a 3M eBook Reader for libraries that automatically syncs with the content. eBooks are compatible with PCs, Macs, iPads, Nooks, Androids and 3M eReaders.Pm

One part of this we’re look forward to learning about is the 3M eBook Reader that will “easily sync with content.”
