"GPO & National Archives Present President Obama First Volume Of Public Papers"

From a GPO Announcement:

Public Printer Bill Boarman, Archivist David Ferriero, and Director of the Federal Register Ray Mosley presented President Barack Obama with the first volume of the Public Papers of the President, Barack Obama in an Oval Office ceremony. The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) works with the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) Office of the Federal Register (OFR) to produce the Public Papers of the President.

The 1,084-page volume is published by OFR and is comprised of a forward by President Obama, public writings, addresses, remarks, and photographs that occurred from January 20-June 30, 2009. The Public Papers of the President is published twice a year and covers a six-month period.

The Public Papers of the Presidents series includes volumes documenting the administrations of Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower to Obama. The publication is edited and annotated by OFR and is the authoritative record of Presidents used by scholars, researchers, and the public.
