"Government-recorded Hearings Now Being Added to the Video Library"
From the C-SPAN Video Library Blog
The C-SPAN Video Library now contains committee hearings produced by House and Senate committees. C-SPAN can only record a limited number of committees every day. However, a number of House and Senate committees have installed their own equipment to webcast their committee proceedings. These webcasts are now scattered across House and Senate committee websites or not available at all. In order to enhance the offerings of the C-SPAN Video Library and to consolidate these hearings in one place, we are importing government produced committee video into the Video Library.
Carl Malamud of Public.Resource.Org has succeeded in persuading some House committees to release their archives of committee hearings. The first release from the House Oversight Committee has occurred. These House Oversight hearings are now being imported to the Video Library. Carl will continue to work with other House committees to gain the release of their archived hearings. We will continue to add those hearings with each new archival release. Here is an example of one of the House Oversight hearings.
At the same time, we have searched all Senate Committee web sites and consolidated their collection of committee hearings in the Video Library. Here is an example of a Senate committee video added to the Video Library.
