DC Public Library to Add Hours on Select Holidays

New Schedule Stems for Increased Funding in FY 2018 Budget

(Washington, D.C.) -  Starting this October, one DC Public Library location in each ward will be open on select holidays. The change in hours is the result of DC Public Library’s FY 2018 budget, which included funding for the new hours.

Ward 1 - Mount Pleasant Library; 3160 16th St. NW

Ward 2 – Georgetown Library; 3260 R St. NW

Ward 3 - Tenley Library; 4450 Wisconsin Ave. NW

Ward 4 - Petworth Library; 4200 Kansas Ave. NW

Ward 5 - Woodridge Library; 1801 Rhode Island Ave. NE

Ward 6 - Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Library; 1630 7th St. NW

Ward 7 - Dorothy I. Height/Benning Library; 3935 Benning Rd. NE

Ward 8 - Anacostia Library; 1800 Good Hope Road SE

The Library locations selected were based on the transit options and the range of services available. The holidays selected are one where District residents are least likely to make travel plans and therefore more likely to use the Library.
