From EPSIplatform:

The Indian Government, as part of their ongoing actions under the Open Government Partnership has launched the Indian national open data portal. The portal uses the Open Gov Platform which was co-developed with the United States.

The beta portal encourages visitors to provide feedback and suggest data sets to be published. “Data Portal India is developed to provide single-point-access to datasets published by various Ministries/Departments of Government of India as per the NDSAP policy. This Beta Launch is to enable you to browse and experience its functionality and usability and let us know your views and feedback on this initiative. You can also suggest the kind of datasets you would like to see on this Portal for further consumption.

At launch the portal holds 13 datasets (4 of which are listed as ‘high value’) coming from 7 government departments.
